Kent freight bosses have warned more must be be done to protect lorry drivers travelling through Calais after one was threatened with a chainsaw.
It's claimed the attack happened recently, during another night of violence in the French town.
Desperate migrants are thought to have ambushed the trucker by setting fire to an obstacle, forcing the driver to stop.
He was then threatened with a chainsaw, it's alleged.
But the attack is not the only one in recent weeks, as migrants are believed to be becoming more desperate to get to the UK.
Four Dartford truck drivers have been attacked in the last two weeks because of "a spike in migrant activity" at Calais.
Now Dan Cook, operations director of Europa Road, a division of independent logistics operator, Europa Worldwide Group based in the town, is urging authorities and industry bodies to ensure a safer passage to trucks and drivers transiting between the continent and UK.
The French attack happened near the so-called jungle migrant camp, where it is thought more than 7,000 people are living.
Regular attempts are still being made to cross the Channel.
Claire Britcher, from the Tunbridge Wells-based Freight Transport Association, said: "I wouldn't say this attack is unprecedented.
"Our members face this day in day out.
"Although it's not always in the news this is what they are facing just going about their jobs."
Now the organisation is calling for more protection for lorry drivers heading to Kent.
