Police are looking to find a person who is believed to have spoken to a man before he fell off a car park in Tunbridge Wells.
The man, aged in his 50s, remains in hospital in a critical condition after he fell from the roof of the Royal Victoria Place building.
The incident, which took place on Monday, February 3, isn't being treated as suspicious but officers are keen to speak to the person who is believed to have been on the roof too.
Det Sgt Jo Hazelwood said: "We believe a person had contact with this man in the minutes prior to him falling from the car park.
"The top floor is often used by staff, but it is also possible that whoever spoke to him was someone who had parked there to go shopping.
"It is important to reiterate that we are not treating this incident as suspicious, but equally we need to establish the full circumstances surrounding it."
