A woman in her 80s has died following a serious accident.

The incident occurred at around 1.50pm yesterday on the A21 between Tonbridge and Pembury.

Police officers found her car overturned near some trees.

The road was closed for more than 12 hours with the fire service and paramedics also in attendance.

The woman was declared dead at the scene and her next-of-kin have been informed.

An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
