A woman has reported being sexually assaulted by a stranger in the street in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
The attack happened as she was walking in Speldhurst Road, between Lady’s Gift Road and Kibbles Lane in Tunbridge Wells, between 1.10am and 1.30am on January 1.
A stranger had tried to engage with her and walk alongside her from Powder Mill Road until they reached the location of the offence, where he is said to have touched her inappropriately.
The man left the area soon after the incident and the woman was able to get home safely before reporting it to the police.
A spokesman for the force said: “The suspect is described as white with an Irish accent, in his early 30s, slim, tall – approximately 5ft 11ins - with short dark hair and stubble. He was seen wearing a dark jacket and jeans.
“Officers carrying out enquiries are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“They would like to hear from anyone who recognises the description of the man or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area.
“Residents living nearby with doorbell cameras and other home security systems, as well as motorists with dashcam, are also urged to check for any footage which may assist the investigation.”
