Women arrested after reported thefts from TK Maxx in Longfield Road, Tunbridge Wells

Three suspected shoplifters who allegedly used a pushchair to steal clothes have been arrested.

On Tuesday (December 17), three women were detained after more than £300 worth of items were reportedly stolen from TK Maxx in Longfield Road, Tunbridge Wells.

The goods are said to have had their security tags removed before they were hidden in an empty pushchair.

Police were called at 1pm after security staff at the shop apprehended one of the suspects.

Officers searched other shops nearby and detained two other women.

A vehicle linked to them was also located and more suspicious items were seized.

The suspects, who are in their 30s and from the Croydon and Carshalton areas, were taken into custody.

They are currently bailed with conditions to return to a police station on Friday, January 3.
