HE MAY have made his senior football debut nearly 40 years ago but Alan Rogers still knows a thing or two about keeping clean sheets.
The man who brings new meaning to the word veteran donned his goalkeeping gloves once again to help the 10-men of Tunbridge Wells record a 1-0 victory at Sevenoaks Town on Boxing Day.
Rogers, 59, said: "Although we had 10 men, I didn’t have that much to do and I didn’t really feel any different the following day. I felt ready for a good training session.
"Before Tuesday’s game, I didn’t half have the butterflies but once I got a couple of early touches that settled things."
