Three men have been arrested as part of an investigation into a burglary in Tunbridge Wells.

Power tools were taken from Hawkenbury recreation ground between Friday, March 21 and Sunday, March 23.

Three men from Tunbridge Wells, aged 26, 33 and 39 been arrested in connection with the offence and released on bail until Wednesday, April 9 while investigation continues.

They executed a search warrant in Tedder Road, Tunbridge Wells and seized items that were believed to be stolen during the burglary.

As part of Kent Police’s Stay Safe Spring Campaign, officers are focusing on targeting a number of offences that often increase during the spring months and ensuring that the public are aware of how they can reduce the risk of becoming a victim of seasonal crimes.

District Commander Chief Inspector, Dave Pate, said: "During the spring time we do tend to see an increase in theft of items such as power tools and gardening equipment from sheds and garages.

"We always encourage people to mark valuable items with a forensic solution or UV pen, and also to take down serial numbers of valuable items.

"This means that when we recover property that we believe to be stolen we have a much better chance of returning it to its rightful owner.

"Homeowners should also consider investing in high quality locks for sheds and garages and alarms too. Burglars look for easy targets and the more security features you have in place, the more likely they are to go elsewhere."
