KENT'S England Test star Rob Key will play for the President's XI against the Bells Yew Green Sunday side this Sunday, July 17, in aid of club funds.
The small but popular club near Tunbridge Wells, has president, comedian and after-dinner speaker Bob "the Cat" Bevan MBE, to thank for attracting a number of celebrities to play in the match, which starts at 2.30pm.
Former Kent and England star Martin McCauge, top PGA golfer Jamie Spence, football manager Lennie Lawrence and Tonbridge Angels president Colin Fry are among the other guests.
Bevan, who is leading a campaign to raise funds to build a new club pavilion, said: "We have raised £100,000 which has bought a long lease on our ground and some top practice nets, but now we have another £40,000 to go."
Bells Yew Green are enjoying their first season in the East Sussex League. Both Saturday sides are pushing for promotion and the club boasts a highly-successful junior section with nearly 200 members.
