ENGLAND World Cup legend Nobby Stiles has had to withdraw from the second West Kent Sporting Club Dinner due to ill-health.
But the only man to score a hat-trick in a World Cup Final, Sir Geoff Hurst, has agreed to replace him at short notice.
The dinner on Thursday, June 20, at the Spa Hotel, Tunbridge Wells, is being organised to raise funds for the ground development fund and junior section of Bells Yew Green Cricket Club, near Tunbridge Wells.
Also speaking will be Test Match Special commentator and former Test cricketer Graham Fowler with BYGCC club president and comedian Bob "The Cat" Bevan as host.
"With most of the tickets sold it was a real worry for us but we are overjoyed that Sir Geoff has helped us out," said Bevan.
On the evening a replica 1966 shirt will be signed by Sir Geoff and sold in the auction.
Another lot will be the pair of gloves worn by England goalkeeper David Seaman during the last week of Arsenal's double-winning season.
These have been signed by Seaman and presented to BYGCC by his goalkeeping coach and ITV commentator Bob Wilson.
Two tables of 12 and some individual tickets are still available at £50 per head to include a champagne reception and can be obtained by calling 01892 750094 or email to bob@bobthecatbevan.co.uk
