YOUNG South African batsman Neil Dexter is in line for a season's championship debut in Tunbridge Wells today when Kent take on LV Championship first division leaders Yorkshire.

The Tykes, who lead second-placed Warwickshire by a point with a game in hand, also hold a 20-point advantage over Kent in fifth, having played five matches apiece.

The hosts will be without experienced left-hander Matthew Walker after he split his left thumb in last week's win over Surrey at Whitgift School, allowing Dexter the chance he has sought all summer.

Yorkshire, under the leadership of Darren Gough, have won three and drawn once so far this season, have been the shock side of the summer considering their close-season tug of war with Sussex over the services of Chris Adams who, after deciding to join the Headingley side, made a quick u-turn to stay in Hove.

The match at The Nevill ground is scheduled to start at 11am on each of the four-days.

Kent: Key, Denly, van Jaarsveld, Dexter, Stevens, Jones, Hall, Arafat, McLaren, Tredwell, Cook.
