JONATHAN Kennard is hoping this weekend's rounds of the British F3 International Series at Castle Combe will provide the perfect birthday present.

Kennard turns 20 on Saturday and has fond memories of the Wiltshire track where he took his first FPA victory in 2003.

Third at Knockhill was followed by second at Thruxton and now the Tunbridge Wells man is determined to go one better and take his maiden National F3 win.

The BRDC Rising Star lies sixth in the championship standings, three points behind his Alan Docking Racing team-mate Juho Annala.

Two wins at Castle Combe would move him up the standings and that will be his target on Sunday.

Pre-race testing at the Snetterton circuit went well for Kennard, who was also a finalist in the BRDC McLaren Autosport Young Driver of the Year as he heads to one of his favourite tracks.

He said: "Castle Combe has been a good track for me. I had my first FPA win there and it's probably one of my favourite circuits. It can be quite tricky and a good qualifying will be important.

"But I'm learning all the time, the testing has been going well and the times are improving each time I go out so I'm really looking forward to getting there."
