So goes the old nursery rhyme and today Cranbrook is giving itself over to a Nuts In May event.
The street festival, which was a great success in its inaugural year last year, returns with plant stalls, and "alternative gardening" plaform, spray-can art, face painting, and food and drink stalls.
There will also be a wacky wings competition, which competitors invited to make their own wings and parade through the High Street wearing them for a chance of one of six cash prizes.
Boughton Monchelsea Morris will do their thing at 10am and again at 1pm and there is live music from Marvellous Mo and the Backline Ferrets and from Phil Trainer and On The Level.
The union Mill is open, the Vestry Hall is open and has a display of children's art and Cranbrook museum is open with a display about hop-picking.
Lots to do between 10am and 5pm
The High Street is closed to traffic all day.
