More than 20 firefighters have been tackling a blaze in a field.

The fire broke out off Badsell Road in Five Oak Green, near Paddock Wood at around 11.51am.

Smoke could be seen billowing over the tree line as passersby watched the flames.

At 12.16pm, the fire service posted on X: “We're aware of a fire near Badsell Road, #PaddockWood.

“Thank you to everyone who's called 999 to report it to us.”

Five fire engines and a bulk water carrier were sent.

A fire service spokesman said crews put out the blaze, adding: “There are no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.”
