A man who collapsed in Cranbrook has died despite efforts to save his life.

Ambulance crews were called to reports of a man aged in his 50s collapsing in farm land off Marden Road yesterday.

While en route, paramedics received a call to say he had stopped breathing.

Those on scene carried out CPR in a bid to resuscitate the him, but when emergency services arrived, he was pronounced dead.

An ambulance spokesman said: "We would like to thank those on scene who carried out CPR. Despite all efforts, when we arrived on the scene the man was pronounced dead.

"He had collapsed after suffering a cardiac arrest."

The air ambulance helicopter also attended.
