Three donkeys safely rescued after they were seen walking down the A229

Three donkeys have been brought to safety after they were seen walking alongside the A229.

Police were called to Cranbrook Road, Staplehurst just after 7.15pm yesterday evening, when commuters spotted the mules making a move.

One of the donkeys was hit by an oncoming vehicle, but it escaped unharmed and no people reported any injuries.

Fortunately, Pets World Kent, which is located in front of where the animals were passing, took in the animals.

A spokesman for the company confirmed that they had contacted the owner of the donkeys, who will be collecting them in the next couple of days.
