A dodgy knee didn't stop Olly Murs hopping about all over the stage during his note-perfect performance last night at the Hop Farm.

It had been a long wait for fans to see the talented musician strut his stuff in his rather cheeky lovable rouge manner, and this time he did it in a rather bold pink salmon suit.

Bold choice of suit aside, it was plain to see why he's got such a loyal following of fans as during his set he covered not only his hit songs, but also other classic covers and to be frank, he actually never missed a beat.

His cheeky smile and witty sense of humour and of course his undeniable musical talents wowed everyone in the crowd and they happily sang along and danced to each and every track.

The Voice judge had his audience in his hand, after they had been warmed up by kmfm presenter Rob Wills.

He strutted around the stage bashing out non-stop tracks for an hour-and-a-half, which of course, made each and every one one of us dance like we'd never danced before (it has been more than 18 months).

What a great venue to do it in too, the Hop Farm Family Park at Beltring, Paddock Wood, is just perfect for gigs.

And of course he did each and everyone of his well known tracks including Troublemaker, Skips a Beat, Dear Darlin' and more had everyone jumping and dancing around the field in delight.

And it was touching to see him perform England's summer anthem - Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline - in tribute and memory of his friend Caroline Flack.

The thousands in the field sang along and danced as though no one was watching and he belted out song after song with his brillant band. His saxophone players' enthusiasm over his music is delightful.

It's a well organised event, easily accessible and well run and well designed. Everything ran smoothly, (well apart from Olly's dodgy knee that is).

And before he came on special guest singer HRVY delighted the younger fans with his tracks and was as just as excited as Olly to be on the stage.

It was good to see the talented Kent youngster, who is a former student at the Leigh Academy in Dartford, perform, his rendition of I Love Your Smile, really got the crowd going.

And before that 20-year Maidstone singer-song writer Katie Kittermaster, also did a set.

Not only did she perform some of her own acoustic music, but also covered an Ed Sheeran track rather well.

Anyway, I went away chanting Oli Oli Oli oi oi oi, (as that's what all the Olly fans do) and it was good to be back in field watching the sun go down listening and seeing real entertainment.

It was delightful to watch everyone else having as much fun as me...after all, it's has been a very long wait.

And we'll be returning later as it's Sir Tom's turn to take to the stage. He had originally planned to celebrate his 80th birthday on tour before the pandemic, but after two postponements, he finally arrives tonight.
