Four men believed to have carried out six violent robberies have so far evaded capture.
Officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate released a renewed appeal for witnesses this morning following a violent attack two weeks ago.
It saw a man and a woman attacked at their home, in Bodiam road, Sandhurst, at around 7.30pm on March 14.
The four suspects entered through a back door and made their way into the living room before demanding money from a man and a woman.
The burglars, dressed in black and wearing balaclavas, eventually left with nothing after one of the victim’s began to scream and shout loudly.
The six offences are reported to have taken place between November and March.
A property in Rye Road was targeted on 22 January and a social club was robbed in Back Lane on 25 January.
It is believed the men have also committed crimes in Rolvenden, Sissinghurst and Ashford and an appeal for information was originally sent out at the beginning of February.
Detective Inspector Adam Ball of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate said: “We are continuing to do all we can to find and arrest those responsible for these crimes and have increased the presence of police officers in areas which have been targeted.
“We are confident the same group of men is responsible, who are described as having Irish accents. They have been wearing balaclavas, not only as a disguise but as a way of intimidating their victims. It is vital that anyone with information on these men comes forward as soon as possible.
“Sandhurst and the surrounding areas are still very safe places to live however it is important that people remain vigilant to deter criminals from entering their homes. Make sure you always lock doors and windows and report any suspicious activity to police immediately.”
Anyone with information should contact 01843 222289.
