A woman in her 80s has died and two others have been injured in a head-on crash.

The elderly lady was declared dead at the scene when her car hit another on Goudhurst Road, near Marden, at around 1.30pm yesterday.

Her blue Hyundai i10 was being driven towards Winchet Hill when it crashed into a blue Kia Sorrento travelling in the opposite direction.

Her family have been informed.

A man and a woman in their 30s were also taken to hospital for their injuries.

Officers from Kent Police's serious collision investigation unit and ambulance crews attended.

Police confirmed an investigation is underway and is appealing for witnesses with information to get in contact.
