Two men broke into a block of flats in broad daylight and were captured on film by a bystander.
The burglars, dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered, were recorded running from the side of the building with one clutching what looks like a crowbar.
According to a witness they were seen kicking down the door just moments before.
Alex Hogben, who filmed the pair, said: "I saw them running up to the house and try and get in using their shoulder first. Then the skinnier one kicked the door and managed to get in, then about two minutes later they came out and that’s the video I got, then I called the police and they arrived soon after and took the video evidence and asked more details."
It appears that while the men were able to gain access to the building, they failed to get into any apartments inside.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: "Kent Police was called at 1.35pm to reports of an attempted burglary at a block of flats in Dr Hope’s Road, Cranbrook.
"It is alleged two men tried to break into a property through a door, but left after being unable to gain access. Officers have attended and enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made.
