A busy through-route has reopened, several hours after a crash.

The A229 was closed between London Lane, Sissinghurst, and Grandshore Lane in Frittenden until just before 4pm.

The accident this morning reportedly involved three vehicles, including a lorry.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called.

Firefighters released a man in his 20s, who was trapped in the van.

He was passed into the care of paramedics, suffering from leg and arm injuries, and was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital by road.

There were heavy delays in the area, but congestion has now cleared.
