Suspicious car blaze in Sherington Road, Marden

Police attended the scene of a suspected arson in a Kent village last night.

The fire brigade were called to Sherington Road, Marden, at around 8.30pm and spent half an hour extinguishing flames which were ripping through a car.

The vehicle, believed to be a Vauxhall Vectra, was completely destroyed.

It was the second suspected arson of the day in the area after a van engine was apparently torched in Paddock Wood.

It is not yet known if the two incidents are linked.
