Christmas at Bedgebury cancelled for remainder of season

Organisers of a popular illuminated festive trail have cancelled its run for the remainder of the season.

Christmas at Bedgebury opened on December 4, after having its original opening date delayed due to the second national lockdown.

And the demand for tickets meant organisers decided to extend its run at Bedgebury Pinetum in Goudhurst through to Sunday, January 17.

However, this week, emails have been sent to customers who'd bought tickets to say it was closing.

They said: "We are extremely disappointed to say that we are closing Christmas at Bedgebury from December 26 onward for the remainder of the season.

"This decision has been made in light of the further announcement by the government today (December 23) and following our close and continued consultation with the local authorities. This is no reflection on Christmas at Bedgebury and is in keeping with all events in Kent.

"This year has seen many challenges and we're pleased that whilst guidance allowed we were able to offer some the opportunity to enjoy the trail safely.

"However, we've made the difficult decision to cancel all remaining dates and we are sorry to not be able to provide you with your Christmas outing this year.

"We appreciate your support at this time."

Organisers said if customers were able, they'd "love" for them to transfer their booking to next year. If not, they could request a refund.
