The A229 Station Road in Staplehurst was partially closed this evening as emergency services responded a suspected car fire.

The incident happened near the George Street junction and there is congestion going both directions.

The blaze turned out to be an overheated engine compartment. Crews used a thermal imaging camera but no further action was required.
