A £900,000 project to upgrade water mains will see a road shut for a total of eight weeks.
South East Water says it has tried to consider parents doing the school run when timing its works in Paddock Wood, scheduling them over the Easter and summer holidays.
Gedges Hill and Chantlers Hill will be dug up for two weeks starting on Thursday, March 28, then for six weeks starting on Tuesday, July 23.
The water company is holding a drop-in session on Wednesday, February 7, between 3.30pm and 7pm at the Paddock Wood Community Centre in Maidstone Road to explain its plans and to answer questions.
The project represents a £900,000 investment to ensure a continued supply of fresh water to the town.

Jeremy Dufour, the project manager, said: "We know that as the community grows, demand for water naturally increases and this could result in low pressure across the area.
“By laying this new pipeline, we’re ensuring that supply and pressure can be maintained and all customers can continue to enjoy top-quality drinking water.”
Mr Dufour added: "We know that road closures can be disruptive and frustrating, but safety is our top priority while we carry out these vital works.
“Access for residents and businesses will be maintained, but the roads will be closed to through traffic.
“Our team will be working extended hours to make sure we stay within the school holiday periods, working from 7am to 7pm on weekdays and from 8am to 4pm on Saturdays.”
