A main road close to a popular Frittenden pub was blocked due to fallen power cables.

Headcorn Road, which meets Frittenden Road, The Street and Mill Lane at a crossroads near the Bell and Jorrocks pub, was blocked at 8.20am.

UK Power Networks engineers headed to the village to deal with the problem.

Kent County Council warned drivers: "Please avoid the area if possible, expect delays in the local area."

The road was reopened this morning (Friday).
