A family attraction has been named as the most popular to set up camp in the south east.
The Hop Farm, in Paddock Wood, was booked 360 times last year through Pitchup.com, making it the company’s top-selling camping and caravan site for 2014.
The popular venue, off Maidstone Road, fought off stiff competition from the other 98 regional holiday parks the website represents, to win the crown.
Miguel Fenton, head of marketing and communications, said the business is delighted with its new title.
He said: “We believe our success is down to the diversity of our offering. It’s not just camping and caravanning at The Hop Farm. Visitors come from all around the UK and beyond to take advantage of our theme park and watersports.”
Mr Fenton said Pitchup.com’s expansion into Europe and has helped the park to attract customers from France.
Another incentive for people to book one of the 300 plots for tents, tourers and motorhomes, is the free entry to the family attraction, which includes an adventure playground, crazy golf and historic oast houses.
Dan Yates, founder of the online outdoor accommodation specialist, said: “The Hop Farm is one of our larger sites and a particularly popular one owing to its great facilities and adjoining family attraction.
“Kent is one of the best destinations in the UK in which to enjoy an outdoor holiday, and I’m sure The Hop Farm will continue to prosper long into the future.”
The county is among the website’s most popular area with 2.1 million searches recorded last year.
