Staplehurst Post office has moved 110 metres down the road.
It is now located with The Spar Shop in the Parade.
Post Office Ltd said the transfer would enable the branch to open for significantly longer hours than it could at its old location in The Milestone Buildings in The High Street which closed a week ago today.
It will now open seven days a week, from 7am to 11pm on Monday to Saturday, and from 8am till 10pm on Sunday.
It will not close for lunch.
Post Office services will be provided from a Post Office counter alongside the retail counter.
Blakemore Retail runs the Spar shop. It's spokesman Stewart Waldron said: “As a community retailer we are delighted to be able to offer post office services in this convenience store; residents can access a wide range of Post Office services during our shop opening hours – which total 110 hours a week.”
Jason Collins, the Post Office network provision manager, said: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.”
