A man has appeared in court accused of stealing a Rolex watch and other valuables worth more than £8,000.
Thom Harrison, of Plough Wents Road in Chart Sutton, is alleged to have entered a house in Marden Lane, Staplehurst in January and taken the watch, a bicycle, keys, passports, a CCTV box, and silver cutlery.
In total, the items were worth £8,050.
Today at Maidstone Magistrate's Court he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Making reference to the documents supplied to him, District Judge Paul Goldspring said: "There is an inference that there is an element of vindictiveness about it."
The 23-year-old was bailed to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, June 7.
He has been ordered not to contact any victims or witnesses in the meantime.
