A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after his car crashed into a tree in Goudhurst.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the smash, which happened at 10.45pm yesterday on the A262.
The silver Toyota Avensis was travelling away from the village when it left the road by Clayhill near the junction with Smiths Lane.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to help the man in his 20s, who was trapped by his injuries.
Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to free him from the wreckage.
He was then assessed by medics before being taken to a London hospital.
Emergency teams then made the area safe.
The road was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
Officers want anyone who saw the crash, or who may have seen the car beforehand to call 01622 798538 quoting MM/JW/103/17.
