A murder suspect was killed when police shot him four times during a planned operation, it's been revealed.
A statement by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) revealed William Smith, 36 - who has now been officially identified - died from gunshot wounds.
Ballistic analysis and statements from officers show two Kent Police firearms officers discharged their weapons twice each during the incident.
Police say there is no bodyworn camera footage of the incident.
A spokesman said: "Armed response officers in Kent do not currently wear body worn video cameras as per national direction.
"A trial of body worn cameras within armed response teams is currently underway nationally with a small number of forces, but Kent is not part of this trial."
They had been called to Smiths Lane, Goudhurst, at around 8.30pm on Sunday.
The operation was part of a murder investigation. Roy Blackman was found bludgeoned to death at his Headcorn Road, Biddenden bungalow on Monday, March 21, after a violent burglary.
Investigators from the IPCC visited Smiths Lane on Sunday evening, and a separate team went to Maidstone Police HQ to oversee the post-incident procedure.
What appear to be two non-police issue firearms were recovered at Goudhurst and are undergoing forensic testing.
Detailed forensic examination of the scene is continuing.
The officers involved in the incident have provided both initial and full accounts to the IPCC.
