Plans have been put forward to site four mobile homes on a traveller site with a chequered planning history dating back 40 years.
The first application, to authorise the mobile home known as Anderina, at Queen Street in Paddock Wood, was refused permission in 1983.
In the intervening years, limited temporary permission has several times been granted, with a condition that occupancy was restricted to a particular family.
But subsequent attempts to obtain permanent permission were refused and applications for a Certificate of Lawful Existing Use have also been refused on the basis the site has been subject to enforcement action.
Now there is a new application before Tunbridge Wells council to replace the existing mobile home with four “new static mobile homes” for use by gypsies or travellers.
Application number 23/02056 refers.
