A man was helping his son-in-law with a roofing job when he fell to his death, an inquest has heard.
Daniel Lee was working on scaffolding in The Orchard, Cranbrook, on Friday, March 18.
His son-in-law Neil Dunham fought to revive Mr Lee, but the 66-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, off Angley Road.
An inquest, held at Gravesend Coroner's Court this morning, heard Mr Dunham asked his father-in-law if he wanted lunch, but then heard a large thud and saw him lying on the ground.
He called 999 and was instructed on how to carry out CPR.
Paramedics attended and despite feeling Mr Dunham's heart beat twice, they were unable to save him.
Health and safety investigators confirmed there was nothing wrong with the scaffolding and it was put up safely.
Mr Lee, a retired farm labourer of Plum Tree Lane, Stockbury, died from a severe head injury.
The coroner recorded an accidental death verdict.
