Fire crews were called after smoke was seen billowing out of a building in Hawkhurst.

They arrived in Rye Road to find a small blaze on the ground floor of a derelict property.

It was quickly extinguished and crews used small tools to cut away to ensure the fire was completely out and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke and fumes.

They were called to the scene at 6.07pm and left shortly after 7.30pm.
