Motorists on the A21 are warned to expect delays after an accident on the south-bound carriageway near Lamberhurst.
The carriageway is partially blocked and traffic is said to be queuing back for three miles.
The accident occurred at the A262 Forstal Farm roundabout. There are no details yet of any injuries.
The incident follows a call only two days ago from three MPs, Tom Tugendhat, Greg Clark and Amber Rudd, for greater safety measures on the road after a series of accidents, at least one of which resulted in a fatality, the death of popular dentist Subhash Pai.
