TV personality Jeff Brazier was the special guest at a celebration of foster parents and children in Paddock Wood.
The ceremony was held at the Hop Farm on Sunday , where those who care for vulnerable and abused children and young people were honoured with awards.
It was held by Attachments Fostering, a small independent agency, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
They have a range of children and young people from newborns to 17-year-olds, mainly from Kent and Medway placed with their foster parents.
Jeff, a presenter on ITV’s This Morning, spoke emotionally about his own experiences of being in care when he was very young.
Manager Dot King said: “Jeff encouraged the children and young people not to allow being in care to hold them back and spoke motivationally about what they can achieve and how they can take the positives forward with them.
“The staff were very impressed that, after the award ceremony, Jeff spent a long time talking to children and foster parents about their experiences.”
