Staff at a shop have rallied the community together to create their own version of a song for Comic Relief.
Ross Barker, store supervisor of Heath Stores in Horsmonden, has arranged for the village to work together to produce a rendition of Keane’s famous song, Somewhere Only We Know.
In 2019, Mr Barker and shop owner Kate Mills came up with the idea of performing seven days of different shows and they are hoping their latest idea will help them raise money for this year’s Comic Relief.
“We always try to do something village-wide for Comic Relief,” Kate said.
“Two years ago, we tried to get the whole village involved.
“This year Ross Barker, our shop supervisor, came up with the concept.
"He is a huge fan of Keane, so he said ‘Let’s do Somewhere Only We Know'.
“We wanted something that was uplifting. We have all spent so much more time at home in lockdown, and so many people in the village have explored our countryside more, and we wanted to reflect that.
“So it was a case of, this is our countryside - Somewhere Only We Know, and we have sort of got closer to it.
“That was really the concept behind why we have done this song.”
The music video was produced by Simon McInerney and also included Mark Bromley and the Horsmonden Choir.
