Bewl Water plays host to a paddle boarding festival this weekend.
The Neilson SUP Armada Festival is the UK’s biggest celebration of stand up paddle boarding (SUP) and will run at the Bewlbridge Lane, Lamberhurst, site until Sunday.
Guests can also enjoy live music and a range of family activities.
This year the festival is hosting the Euro Tour, where some of the fastest paddleboarders in the world will compete alongside experienced amateurs taking to the water for charity.
Taster sessions will also be available ahead of a mass participation world record attempt being held tomorrow afternoon.
Dan Charlish, founder of the Neilson SUP Armada Festival: said: “The festival is an amazing opportunity for the whole family to get involved with the world’s fastest growing and most accessible watersport, with beginner lessons for the kids, and racing and yoga sessions for Mum and Dad. Everyone can enjoy being out on the water and there is loads of fun on land too. With your tent pitched overlooking beautiful Bewl Water, it’s the perfect festival to kick start the summer holidays."
David Taylor, managing director at Neilson Holidays, added: “What a fantastic event to be part of! We were bowled over by how many people took part in the SUP Armada last summer; all ages, all abilities and from all over the country. SUP is an ever-growing part of what we offer on our activity-inclusive holidays in Greece, Sardinia and Croatia, and it was wonderful to meet so many people who make it part of their life back in the UK too. The Neilson team loved getting involved in the record breaking attempt and we’re looking forward to smashing it once again this year.”
Weekend tickets for the festival are priced at £20 for adults and £15 for juniors.
Camping is from £35 for the whole weekend, while those wanting to register to take part in the SUP Euro Tour Race should visit www.armadaevents.co.uk
