Police are appealing for witnesses after an 85-year-old woman died after a crash in Cranbrook.
A silver Peugeot and a dark blue Ford Fiesta were involved in a collision on the A229 Angley Road at 1.48pm yesterday.
The accident happened at the junction of Angley Road and High Street.
Police say the local woman was taken to hospital but has since died.
The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a 22-year-old man, was also taken to hospital but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
Officers closed the road for about five hours to investigate the scene.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Scott Lynch from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "It was a busy Saturday afternoon in Cranbrook so there may have been a number of people who saw the collision.
"We would ask witnesses to contact us if they haven’t already spoken to an officer."
