Emergency services were called to a property in Paddock Wood last night following reports of a kitchen fire.

One fire engine and paramedics attended the incident in Eastwell Close at 9.20pm after an appliance caught fire.

A woman believed to be in her twenties was treated for shock and the effects of breathing in smoke.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and removed the appliance to outside the property before leaving the scene at 9.35pm.
