Calling themselves the King Street Seven, the group were keen to explore skills and styles of art from their local studio at King Street Gallery, Margate, where they are generously tutored by artist Brian Davenport who runs a non-profit (Looking Ahead) project providing skills and training for young people with additional needs to help them find work in the local community.
It is an extraordinary project because the canvas is 1.4m (H) x almost 6m (W).
As a group, they decided they wanted to seek a home for the painting in keeping with the ethos of the studio and their commitment to art in the local community.
