More on KentOnline
She dedicated her life's work to the benefit of humanity at her own life's expense. While raising two wonderful daughters, she discovered radioactivity and initiated radiotherapy treatments for cancer. She was, for lack of better words, just humbly incredible!
She was the first woman to win the Nobel prize, the first person and only woman to win it twice, and the only person to win it in two sciences (Physics and Chemistry). In a time when gender gaps and women in STEM are at the centre of public attention, Marie Curie is a timeless and absolute role model.
This event is in aid of (and supported by) the Marie Curie Foundation. Part of the ticket sales will be donated to this Charity.
