Foodies will have plenty to tempt their tastebuds at Broadstairs Food Festival’s spring fair this weekend.
The festival’s spring outing, which is held at Pierremont Park, runs from Saturday, April 15 to Easter Monday.
The well-loved event features more than 50 food and drink stalls offering everything from nutritional and healthy to naughty but nice with meats, poultry and game, cheeses and chocolates, cakes and desserts, and a wide range of drinks including ales and ciders.
Fair organisers have teamed up with local producers, restaurants, bars and food retailers to offer a showcase of food, drink and hospitality in Broadstairs and further afield.
There will also be an Easter bonnet competition for under 12s, with judging on Easter Monday. Categories are Most Colourful, Most Floral and Most Inventive.
Young creators need to head to the Chamber Office in Pierremont Hall at 2.30pm.
A face painter will be on hand each day to turn youngsters into creations and there will also be children’s art activities.
The free three-day spring event is open between 10am and 5pm each day. For details go to broadstairsfoodfestival.org.uk The festival is run by a not-for-profit organisation, which also holds an autumn event.
More than 200 real ales and ciders can be tried at Margate’s Winter Gardens at the weekend when the 12th Planet Thanet Beer Festival rolls in.
There will be international bottled beers, ciders and perries, live entertainment and hot and cold food available at the popular CAMRA event which will be held on Good Friday and Saturday, April 15.
Doors open at noon and last orders are 9.15pm on Friday and 7.45pm on Saturday.
Admission is £5 on Friday and £3 on Saturday on the door, and is free to card-carrying CAMRA members. For details go to easterbeerfestival.org.uk
