BROGDALE: Get into the Christmas spirit at Brogdale Farm this weekend. There are lots of indoor and outdoor activities for children, including tractor rides, a gingerbread trail, craft workshops and Christmas carols — but it’s not all about the kids. Grown-ups can browse the gift stalls, pick up a locally sourced Christmas tree to put up at home and sip a glass of mulled wine as they stroll through the farm and orchards.

Details: Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1 at Brogdale Farm in Faversham. Free entry, pay for individual activities on the day.

HISTORIC DOCKYARD: Help the elves sprinkle some festive cheer over Medway’s maritime attraction as the dockyard’s festive experience, Mission Christmas, returns for a third year. Visitors are led into a secret sub-station and invited to join the Elf Academy to learn essential skills like present-wrapping and toy-making and graduate as an official Elf Apprentice. There’s also a chance to meet Father Christmas, receive a gift and take a family photo.

Details: Select dates until Christmas Eve at the Historic Dockyard Chatham. Book online here.

LEEDS CASTLE: Start your day at one of Kent’s biggest attractions, Leeds Castle, with a journey through Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. The heart-warming ballet has been turned into an immersive storybook adventure through the castle and its grounds with towering nutcracker soldiers and twirling ballerinas. Then, when the sun goes down, you can follow the mesmerising light trail full of rainbow-coloured projections and show-stopping art installations.

Details: The Nutcracker Experience runs until Sunday, January 5 and the light trail runs until New Year’s Day at Leeds Castle, near Maidstone. Book online here.

MARGATE CAVES: Venture below ground and discover the caves’ hidden hive of festive fun. Follow the glittering light trail, collect coins for Snow White’s wishing well, take a photo under the Christmas tree, create your own snow globe and meet Father Christmas along with his Chief Elf. You can refuel with a luxury hot chocolate before heading home.

Details: Select dates from Saturday, November 30 to Monday, December 23 at the Margate Caves. Book online here.

REINDEER CENTRE: Families can meet and feed Santa’s reindeer, as well as a host of other animals, at the farm this weekend. There’s also a 150ft tunnel with twinkling lights and festive scenes, a chance to meet Father Christmas and a snow pit where kids can play in heaps of artificial snow.

Details: Daily until Christmas Eve at the Reindeer Centre in Bethersden, near Ashford. Book online here.
