We're only a little way into January but, thanks to the cold weather and the post-Christmas hangover still looming, it's almost a given that many of us have already broken our New Year's resolutions.
Despite good intentions, it's easy to fall off the wagon when it comes to January health and fitness goals, but don't worry - there are plenty of ways to get back on track...
YOGA AND WELLBEING
Get back in touch with nature - and yourself - with a wellbeing workshop. The Yoga, Foraging and Forest Therapy session, hosted by Tilia Yoga in Aylesford, gives you a chance to take part in a gentle yoga class, join a nature walk with a focus on wild medicine and experience guided forest therapy activities in the woodland. The aim of the game is to give yourself a chance to slow down, reflect and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

WAKEBOARDING
If your resolutions involve trying something new, then this could be perfect for you. Hop on a wakeboard (a board with foot bindings to keep you in place) and enjoy a two-hour session where you will soar across the water as a motorboat takes you around this fun-filled aqua park in Sandwich. It’s a thrilling outdoor activity suitable for a range of ages and abilities, but you will need to sign a waiver before taking part so it might be worth doing a little research beforehand.

COLD WATER SWIMMING
This exhilarating activity has become increasingly popular over the past couple of years, but it’s not without risk. Cold water swimming can be dangerous, so if you’re interested in taking part then it could be worth signing up to a course and finding out everything you need to know. The one-hour workshop at Kent’s biggest aqua park, just outside of Rochester, takes you through how to prepare yourself, the risks involved and how to recover after your swim - and you can also take a dip at the end.

HIKING
Whether you want to tackle tumultuous terrain or start off with a gentle hike, there’s lots of places in the Kent countryside to explore the great outdoors. This particular hike from Boots On Adventures takes you on a four-hour trail between Westwell and Eastwell Manor, including steep inclines and treks along the rolling hills of Ashford's surrounding North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

HEALTH AND FITNESS COURSES
Kent Adult Education has a huge programme of online and in-person workshops, courses and classes taking place this month. From Stretch and Tone in Dover to Yoga in Westgate, you can sign up to a class near you and get started on learning a new skill and working towards your fitness goals. And, with courses such as virtual yoga for beginners and online morning pilates, you don’t even need to leave your house.
