When dinosaurs ruled the Earth, this one was surely the king.

The Spinosaurus was a carnivorous monster, possibly larger than the tyrannosaurus and giganotosaurus.

Now, one of its kind is ruling the roost at Port Lympne Animal Reserve, near Hythe, after taking up residence at the Dinosaur Forest.

True to life at 18 metres long, 1.6m tall and weighing 20 tonnes, dinosaur lovers will be able to see it as part of the ever-expanding journey through the ages.

On delivery to the site, the Spinosaurus was too large for the biggest trailer at Port Lympne and had to be lifted by a crane and carried through the reserve.

The reserve continues to expand its woodland so people can see what dinosaurs would have looked like if they still existed.
