Each April, Gravesend comes alive with impressive displays and the streets fill with parades and spectators for the Vaisakhi festival.
With a spectacular parade and displays and demonstrations of music and dance, celebrations will centre on the gurdwara, off Saddington Street.
Festivities begin with the free Vaisakhi on the Square, where the flag is raised to signal the start of celebrations in the community square on Thursday, April 13.
There will be Bhangra dance performances, food and drink, a martial arts display and Kirtan, Sikh prayers, from 11am to 1pm.
On Saturday, April 15, the main parade will start from the gurdwara and make its way through the town, starting at 11.30am, with speakers addressing the crowds.
The parade will pass through the town centre – along Saddington Street, heading to Clarence Place, through to Wellington Street, before making its way back to the gurdwara.
Celebrations will continue inside the impressive building into the next day.
