More on KentOnline
It won’t be hard to sniff out this weekend’s Canterbury Food and Drink Festival – the aromas wafting around the city centre will be irresistible.
Local street food, seasonal produce and ciders and real ales will all be tickling your tastebuds at the county’s biggest food festival.
Showcasing some of London’s best street food stalls, Kent’s finest home-grown treats and a festival bar, the three-day event in Dane John Gardens attracts thousands every year – some 40,000 people were tempted along last year.
With more than 100 stalls, the free event is more than just food and drink.
There are also two music stages and a dedicated children’s field for little ones to let off steam.
Throughout the weekend there will also be roving entertainment throughout the city centre and a pop-up dining court at the Whitefriars shopping centre.
The launch of the annual Kent Green Hop Beer Fortnight which celebrates the special brew made using fresh "green" hops will be staged at the festival on Friday, September 23 when there will be a green hop beer tent in Dane John Gardens. Brisket and pork ribs infused with green hop beer will also be on offer.
