What better way to celebrate the British summertime than with a night at the proms?
This weekend, the magnificent Leeds Castle Concert returns to the historic grounds near Maidstone - and there are still a few tickets available.
Grab a picnic blanket, slap on the sun cream and soak up the incredible atmosphere at this open-air concert.
The concert boasts a packed programme of live music and entertainment, opening with swing group Down For the Count.
The upbeat orchestra proved to be a fan favourite in previous years and hope to once again get audiences in the mood to party.
Kick off your shoes and enjoy a sing and dance on the lawn as the band perform a number of larger-than-life classics such as Sing, Sing, Sing and I’ve Got You Under My Skin.
“We're absolutely thrilled to be returning to Leeds Castle for the 2022 concert,” says Down for the Count band manager Mike Paul-Smith. “We absolutely loved performing for you in 2021 and simply cannot wait to spend a sunny summer's day performing our swing, jazz and big band favourites for you once again!”
The magnificent Royal Philharmonic will then take to the stage for a rousing closing performance, set against the backdrop of the castle and an exciting firework finale.
In the spirit of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, guests are invited to dress for the occasion in their most regal finery. Dust off your tiara and dress to impress, as there is a bottle of bubbly up for grabs for the best dressed audience member.
The royal theme seems fitting, as Leeds Castle has been the home of six of England’s queens and King Henry VIII through its 900 year history.
There will also be an amazing Spitfire display soaring across the sky above the castle during the event.
With world-class music, iconic Kentish scenery and a weekend of warm weather on the way, this stunning summertime concert is not to be missed.
The Leeds Castle Concert takes place on Saturday, July 9. Book tickets online here or call 08456 526 262.
