A fun day out at the Tower of London Food Festival 2018

Foodie fans have a great chance to sign off the summer in style this weekend by heading to the Tower of London to celebrate all things food and drink.

Taking place between Friday, September 7 and Sunday, September 9, you can watch live cooking demonstrations from some of the UK's top chefs such as Michel Roux Jr, Nadiya Hussain, Melissa Hemsley and Dr Rupy Aujla or get involved in the many family activities on offer.

Access to the festival is included in Tower of London admission tickets meaning you can combine a day out at London’s popular attraction site with all the fun at the festival.

Ticket prices are £26.80 for adults, £12.70 for children aged between five and 15 and £20.90 for full time students, disabled visitors and over 60s with ID.

Family tickets are priced at £68.10 (two adults and two children) while children under five get in free. The opening times are 10am to 7pm on Friday, 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 5.30pm on Sunday.

There's lots of tasty options for eating and drinking, from street food dishes, ales, gin and tonic to an array of food-to-go snacks from artisan food and drink producers.

You can then burn off all that nosh but taking part in some traditional and vintage games that are easy to play and great fun for all ages. New to the festival this year is the Helter Skelter ride.

Tired out? Then you can sit back on the Tower of London deckchairs at the bandstand and watch performances throughout the three days from artists including Lizzie Haynes, Hollie Rogers, Lewis Ross, Hattie Briggs, Scott McMahon and Janakan Rajkumar.

Those with kids can get them involved in a hands-on masterclass in The Classroom where they’ll have a go at creating healthy mini fruit pizzas and peppermint creams.

They can also learn from the masters in a Le Petit Cordon Bleu workshop at the Le Cordon Bleu Skills School or even join a free demo on kids’ cookery in The Kitchen on Sunday 9 September with Suzy Pelta.
