Scottish rockers the Xcerts are tipped for big things with their new album, so seeing them in the county this week is likely to be a rare treat.
Not only that, but they’ll be supported at Tunbridge Wells Forum on Saturday, April 11 by US grunge pop trio Heyrocco, whose own new album, Teenage Movie Soundtrack, is already being compared to the likes of Nirvana, the Cure and Mudhoney.
The Xcerts hail from Aberdeen but moved to Brighton in 2006. Their new single, I Don’t Care, is due for release on Monday, April 20.
Frontman Murray McLeod said: “When we were demoing, I Don’t Care went through countless changes lyrically. It was a pretty frustrating time for me personally as I wanted the chorus to be as big and as simple as possible but I just couldn’t find the finish line.
"Out of pure frustration I wrote the line, ‘I don’t care no more, if you’ve got something to say then just say it’, and I had finally found the chorus.”
The Xcerts’ trip to Kent is part of a UK tour. The gig starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £7.50. More details at www.twforum.co.uk
